1. Hold the fixed side handle of your standard (FR type) clamp tool parallel to a reasonably level surface and open the moving side handle fully.
2. Let the moving handle drop under gravity. If the handle stops BEFORE it reaches the stops on the inside of the handles, the tools is OK and usable.
3. If the handles close all the way to the stops, the tool requires replacement. Note: The Buteline standard FR type clamp tool is not adjustable.
